    That’s no moon…

There’s a new World of Warcraft Star Wars game out next year, Star Wars The Old Republic. And it’s a lot like World of Warcraft, a lot of people playing in the same world going on quests together and dancing, etc. I’ve never found enough time to get into one of those kind of games, in fact I rarely find enough time to drive around running people down in Grand Theft Auto these days – I should get back to that. Anyway, I’m sure there will be a whole host of Star Wars Kid type memes next year when the game comes out but in the meantime if this is the kind of game that ticks your boxes then check out www.swtor-uk.com

    Blue Harvest

It’s full of news about the game along with screenshots, videos and interviews and has a forum to discuss all the rumours. It’s kind of a niche market but seeing as a lot of people tend to stumble onto this site via google from places like Bulgaria, Brazil and Hungary (and hello to the Guatemalans following my tales) I thought I’d post this up and send you all over there.

Personally, I’ve always found the dancing in these games rather amusing, I’d be interested to see Darth Vader’s dance in the game.

For full disclosure I can’t use my huge influence over the internet without admitting that the site is run by my brother Owen. And what a fine job he has done with it. Check it out now.

    Facebook

I’ve been trying a lot of the new Web 2.0 sites recently – this one, lastfm, flickr and now I’ve added twitter, Jaiku and Facebook. Twitter & Jaiku are mini blogs with text message size entries – the twitter one appears on the right here, I’m still trying out Jaiku but it seems cool in that it brings together feeds of the blog, photos, twitter and any other feed you have to get it all in one place. There’s not much on that yet except the first and last posts in the feeds I added.

I was quite shocked to see that half of the people from my year at school are on Facebook. Even Steve has retracted his 13 year old girl comment to join. No sign of Paul the anti-internet web designer yet though – too busy with his new recipes site. I still need to give some of those a go but my cooking has been put on the back burner, so to speak, as with all the travel time to work I don’t really have a chance. All the more to look forward to with the new home, hopefully not too far away.

    New stuff on the blog

    Friday, April 13th, 2007

I’ve added a few bits to the right hand column on the blog. There’s the twitter stuff, which is like a mini blog – the idea is to answer ‘what are you doing’ in 140 characters or less. I’ve heard a lot about it so I though I’d try it out, not sure how good it will be yet.

Then there’s my lastfm charts which show the artists I’ve been listening to on iTunes and my iPod for the week and an overall chart.

Last of all I finally found something to put in the links section, there’s my flickr account which has photos, but I haven’t taken many recently so I’ll try to get more in there. There’s also a myspace link to my page there.

I might be playing around and adding/removing bits but it adds a little more information for when I don’t post anything new myself.

    MySpace

    Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

I finally gave in and made a myspace page. I was convined I would never use that site but circumstances changed and I had to in order to stay in touch with a few people. If anyone else if on there my page is http://www.myspace.com/neilwill

I’m not convinced about it yet – everyone says you’ll get hooked and spend all your time on there but at the moment it seems like opening up your email for everyone to read. I do have a cool monkey on there though.
